Position Title: Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist
Location: Traverse City, MI (Hybrid) Back up to Main HR On-Site
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $65,000 - 95,000

We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Senior HR Generalist to join our team. This role will be critical in shaping the employee experience and supporting the full spectrum of HR functions including full cycle benefits experience, workers comp, leave, employee relations, auditing compliance, performance management, training, onboarding and HR operations. The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture.
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for benefits, as well as providing guidance and support on HR-related matters.
Serves as the primary back up to the on-site HR person to cover on-site presence during the primary’s on-site leave, sick days and turn over
Administrate and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment laws (local, state, and federal) to include being responsible for auditing
Support managers with performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans
Address employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism, conducting investigations as needed
Maintain and update HRIS and personnel files; ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping
Assist in administering benefit programs and serve as liaison with insurance providers and brokers
Develop and deliver employee training programs related to compliance, safety, and leadership development
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and HR strategy development
Lead or support HR projects such as engagement surveys, retention initiatives, compensation reviews, and workforce planning
Assist Chief People Officer with administrative support
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, or Bamboo) and Microsoft Office Suite
PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
Experience in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, or DTC environment is a plus
Must be available to work on-site full-time in Traverse City, MI
